New: Update on Registration of small sewage discharges from Septic Tanks & Sewage Treatment Plants

Further to the original Environment Agency permit registration scheme that was suspended in 2011, DEFRA has published a consultation on changes to the regulation of small sewage discharges or SSD’s.

The new proposals will affect all owners of septic tanks and sewage treatment plants and will place limits on the location, volume and type of discharge for septic tank and sewage treatment plant installations.
